At Ease is the most relaxed of the military positions while still maintaining formation discipline. It allows for natural movement and comfort during extended periods while keeping personnel in formation and ready to respond to commands.

Silence must be maintained - no talking allowed

Proper Execution Steps
Follow these guidelines to execute at ease correctly while maintaining military discipline.
Foot Position
Keep right foot in place, left foot may move slightly
- Right foot remains in original position
- Left foot may shift for comfort
- Maintain general stance and balance
- No excessive movement or shifting
Arm Position
Arms may be relaxed at sides or behind back
- Arms no longer required at strict attention
- May clasp hands behind back if desired
- Natural, comfortable arm positioning
- Avoid excessive arm movement
Body Posture
Maintain general military bearing with relaxed stance
- Overall posture remains military
- Slight relaxation of rigid attention
- Shoulders may relax slightly
- Maintain professional appearance
Head Position
Head may move naturally but maintain awareness
